DREAM BIG!!!
The number one reason people fail to achieve their goals is a lack of a clear vision. This can lead to a life of chasing immediate gratification instead of living the life you want. If you aren’t clear on your vision, then you will take, or do, whatever brings you that immediate happiness. You want to lose weight, but aren’t clear on your vision, then you will decide to have that dessert because it brings you instant gratification. Whereas, a person who has a clear vision of their health and their body will decide to pass on the dessert because they understand that it will not help them reach their goal. A clear vision makes decision-making easier and reduces stress.
Know the exact destination you want, and you can achieve it. Put the exact life you want into your goals and create the precise instructions to get there. This will allow you to make the right decisions to get to your goals. To live a fulfilling life, you will need clarity of vision. Every step taken and every goal accomplished increases your sense of fulfillment and will get you closer to the life you want.
Don’t be afraid to dream BIG and go get the life you want! Your goals and vision should excite you and stretch you. It should be something that would give you the best life imaginable. Don’t set a vision to be average. Set a vision to live the best, most fulfilling life you can imagine. You need to have some fuel behind that vision and it needs to align with your purpose. You wouldn’t go on vacation to a small town with average tourism and stay in an old hotel. When you choose a vacation destination, you pick somewhere incredible or adventurous, depending on what you’re looking for.
Dream BIG because life is too short to wait for something good to happen to you. We have to go create it. Live life on purpose and write your own script. Once your life is over you will not have a chance to re-write the script. So take advantage of every second and dream BIG to create the life you want. Dreaming BIG will motivate you to work even harder and cause you to expand out of your comfort zone, which will make you grow (Tracy, n.d.). Even if you do not achieve your BIG, crazy dream, you will become a better person in the process. It doesn’t matter if you are 18 or 80, you can set BIG goals and create Small Wins to achieve them. It’s never too late to live your best life! Just start now and begin making improvements. It may lead you on a different path. A path that you cannot see right now, but the path you were meant to take!
We often look into a future that is not real – a future that is made up in our minds – and we think that our dream is impossible. But it isn’t impossible! The only thing that’s impossible is our ability to predict the future. So why limit ourselves to small thinking. Dream BIG! Take a chance and trust that things will work out for you. It’s insane to think that you know what’s going to happen. We have no way of knowing how events will turn out. You may not reach your goal, but the pursuit of that goal will take you on the journey that ultimately makes you a better person. Steve Jobs summed up the stupidity of this fake reality when looking into our future:
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path. And that will make all the difference.”
Dreaming BIG will give you purpose, force you to work harder, and make you more creative. So what are you waiting for! Don’t get to the end of your life and regret not writing that book or creating that business. The great orator Les Brown painted a grim picture, but a true one.
“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”
